Hello First Grade Parents!
I just wanted to take a moment to email all of you to say "welcome" and that I am very excited about teaching your children this year! Without a normal "meet and greet" day, I just wanted to reach out and tell you a little bit about myself, and also offer you a chance to get back to me (if you would like/need to) regarding anything you would like me to know about your child before we begin next week.
My name is MaryAnn Beliveau and this is my second year teaching at Corpus Christi. I worked here last year as a Pre K 4 teacher. As much as I really did enjoy working with Pre K, First grade has always been "my home" as a teacher. I started out teaching First grade years ago (1998 to be exact) at my first teaching job at St. James School in Manchester, and continued to teach First grade when I moved onto public school in Cromwell for several years. After taking a hiatus from teaching for about seven years to raise my two children, I returned to the teaching world part time for a few years, and then back to fulltime last year.
I wanted to reach out as well to tell you to please let me know if there is anything you would like me to know about your child before we begin next week. I will be sending home a "Welcome" notice with your child for you to fill out that has some specifics (interests, favorites, etc.), but I feel that with the present circumstances, as well as the fact that they haven't been in school for almost six months, it's understandable that there may be some anxiety or other emotions as they take this next step in their academic career. So again, please feel free to write me back and let me know anything that you may be concerned about!
Again, I look forward to meeting everyone next week! Enjoy what is left of summer vacation!
