Ms. Bernaiche - About Me

I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science Pre-Veterinary Medicine.  After graduation, I worked for an agricultural research facility and then spent most of my adult life in the social services field.  I spent 7 years as the Assistant Director and Community Educator for the New Britain YWCA Sexual Assault Crisis Service and 23 years as a Domestic Violence Counselor with the Non-Violence Alliance in Middletown, working with court ordered domestic violence offenders.

Prior to coming to Corpus Christi School, I spent 6 years at St. Matthew School, Forestville, as their middle school honors math teacher and 5th grade math, science and social studies teacher.  There, I co-moderated the school yearbook, Operation Christmas Child, sponsorship of a child at the Steven Tito Academy in Bagamoyo, Tanzania, the Robotics, Drama, and Homework Clubs, as well as worked in our GAP (Guardian Angel Program) program after school.  I also taught middle school math and science for 12 years at St. Brigid School, West Hartford, and it was during this time that I completed coursework and obtained my Certificate in Religion from Sacred Heart University, successfully completed the Connecticut Alternate Route to Teacher Certification, and passed the Praxis II exam in Biology for grades 7-12.

I am so excited to be a member of the Corpus Christi School community and thank you for the privilege to teach your children.
